MUMBAI, Sept. 4 () -- Tata Steel of India said potential customers in Europe and the United States have ordered more than 200 samples of its perforated armor steel.PAVISE SBS 600P is an enhanced version of its previous product, Super Bainite,[url=http://www.chronotime.net/]christian louboutin discount[/url], for armoring of military vehicles armoring solution for military vehicles and for protecting infrastructure from armor-piercing projectiles.The company says PAVISE SBS 600P has been tested up to STANAG Level 4 and its performance is at least twice that of conventional rolled homogeneous steel armor.The perforated design of the steel creates a large number of edges which disrupt the path of incoming projectiles and reduces the effectiveness of armor-piercing small arms and heavy machine gun rounds.Tata said PAVISE is less expensive than its previous version and that it can be bent into tight angles in the perforated condition before hardening to ultra-high levels of hardness."Tata Steel has spent significant effort developing this unique product and we are delighted with its performance," said Dr. Henrik Adam, Tata Steel's chief commercial officer in Europe.
