This book is set during the Civil War. It about a ten year-old boy from Georgia who has to decide whether or not he wants to help a Yankee soldier and a slave escape to freedom. As you can imagine, getting the jacket image right is very important. I admit it: I snack on homemade cookies regularly throughout the day. They remind me of my childhood, which I spent baking cookies with my best friend nearly every weekend. When the cookies were ready, we settle into comfy chairs in her attic and read novels, sharing the juiciest parts of our books with each other.
