The Soup is an E! Entertainment Television weekly line; it is a renewed version of Talk Soup that concentrates on recaps of various pop culture and television show moments of the full week. The show is located by comedian Joel McHale, who provides sarcastic and biting commentary within the various clips.

Executive producer Edward Boyd's chihuahua Lou can be used regularly in segment openings and elsewhere inside the show.
