Is Education valued more in other parts of the world
In other countries many kids dream of attending a school instead of going to work. This has been the case in many countries throughout the years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Some students don't know how valuable education is in their lives. In other countries going to school is like a gift to them while in America it can be like a punishment to some students. I didn't value my free education until I started doing some research and learned from my family how much a child suffers just to be able to get to school,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. My mom says that many kids would have only one pencil throughout the year and if you were lucky it could last more than a year.
My mom says that when she first started school she was 6 years old and about 30 of the 50 students didn't wear shoes because of the poverty. Here in America I never seen someone go to school without wearing a pair of shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. My father says that he would walk about two hours everyday just to get to school. He would cross bridges and hills just to arrive at the local public school. Everybody would always want to be on time because if you were late even though you had a good excuse you would most like get beaten by the teacher with a ruler,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. They didn't have the tools such as calculators and computers that we do. In my school LPS Hayward we have less than 30 students in each classroom in my mom's school in Mexico they had around 50 students in each small overcrowded classroom.
This shows how desperate and anxious students are to go to school and be able to learn. It is Sunday right now and many of my friends have updated their status by posting comments like this "Oh it's Sunday and tomorrow it's Monday and I am really not looking forward to school". Many of my friends post negative comments toward school and how much they hate being in school,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. In my opinion this wouldn't be the case in other countries that are in need of an education,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I have spoken to many immigrants that have come from other countries where it is very hard to attend school and I have noticed that they actually end up doing better in school than the native students. Why is this? Well it maybe because they want to take advantage of their free education. In other countries many kids dream of attending a school instead of going to work.
